The Disgusting Genocide Apologetics of Steven Bonnell, aka "Destiny"
The liberal Zionist podcaster has a long and dark history of smearing anti-Zionists as antisemites without even a shred of reason or evidence.
I seldom write about influencers, mostly because I find their grift too nauseating and yawn-inducing to care. But when one of them has some measure of influence, especially when it comes to defense of the worst crime against humanity, they become fair game.
Case in point, Steven Bonnell, otherwise known as “Destiny.” I refuse to call him by that pseudonym, partly because it sounds too much like I am referring to some long-forgotten 80s band, and partly because I think his actual name should be known.
Bonnell is a popular American streamer who made a name for himself playing video games. Somehow, with that illustrious background, he transitioned into a political commentator. This is not uncommon today, when we consider leftist streamer, Hasan Piker, or the far-fascist moron, Zack Hoyt, aka Asmongold. It is indicative of this era of social media celebrity culture, where content creators, influencers and streamers have been able to transform themselves into political analysts due to their popularity, intelligence, or in the case of Bonnell, support from Israel.
In the years since he became a liberal influencer, Bonnell has taken it upon himself to defend the liberal establishment. Some of his targets have been correct, if not totally predictable. For instance, he has condemned American white supremacy. But his analysis of systemic racism stops there. In fact, it is such an obvious limitation that, for this sociologist, it is really quite astonishing and laughable.
Bonnell is a liberal Zionist. And although that ideological framework is getting more and more difficult to defend, he continues to support the Zionist state even after almost 3 years of genocide. So much so, that the streamer went to Israel as it was in the most brutal phase of its campaign of annihilation.
In one infamous clip while he was there, he was recorded telling IDF soldiers to “leave your fucking cellphones at home and stop taking fucking videos.” This came after the controversy of scores of IDF soldiers proudly posting their crimes against Palestinians, including women and children, online. Bonnell did not admonish them for these crimes, only for documenting them. But the habit of sharing cruel content online is a familiar one to Bonnell.
In February 2025, a federal lawsuit was filed against Bonnell in Florida. A smaller content creator known as “Pxie” accused him of sharing explicit sexual content of her without her consent. The suit alleged he sent the video to a fan, who subsequently disseminated it to various websites. Bonnell did not have any problem with what the IDF soldiers were doing, if nothing else, he could deeply relate to their vile impulses.
Over the past few years, Bonnell has used the same boilerplate, nonsensical arguments to defend the racist ideology of Zionism, including the baseless smear of antisemitism toward anyone who opposes it, including anti-Zionist Jews. He tried this with Norman Finkelstein, the famous anti-Zionist Jewish scholar who has written dozens of books and whose family was killed in the Holocaust, and ended up looking like an even bigger fool than before.
But the worst part of this is his own admission. Bonnell openly stated that he “honestly, I am pro-genocide” when talking about Israel’s actions in Gaza and occupied West Bank in a streaming video, laughing as he spat out these vile words. There are truly no words adequate enough to describe this level of psychopathy.
Bonnell is not unique. He comes from the same brand of white, American liberal class, who have always been dispatched to tone police and gatekeep the left. His analysis is so ridiculously thin, that it is astonishing that he continues to be trotted out as some foil to MAGA fascism, even as he continues to defend genocide. But Israel has long used influencers to peddle hasbara talking points and shill for the genocidal, apartheid regime.
Regardless of the enormous money being poured into this effort (Israel quadrupled its PR budget in 2026 and has been allegedly paying influencers up to $7,ooo to post pro-Israel content), or the billionaire funders of Zionist propaganda like Larry Ellison and his stooge, Bari Weiss, this cadre of grifters are beginning to see their own extinction on the horizon. And, with any luck, Steven Bonnell’s tiresome and repugnant commentary will go the way of the dinosaurs as soon as the cash from Israel stops flowing.
Maybe he can have brunch with Boy George and lament their grifting legacy.
